America Continues The Prophetic Parallel Of The Roman Empire As "Caesar" Promises Citizen's Protection Against The Barbarians At The Gate
s I monitor the morning news broadcasts, the Fox In The Henhouse TV news frequently provides me with enough manipulated news to spark a subject for this column -- and today is no exception. This morning, the propaganda machine sounded the alarm that budget cuts may cost the US Navy 2 aircraft carriers -- a substantial cut in military strength at a time when the American Empire is busy defending the world.
This was the precise series of steps which led Caesar to the role of emperor, as the fear of being overrun by the "barbarians" continuously brought the Roman Senate and the citizenry of the Republic to cede more and more power to the legions -- ultimately resulting in an unprecedented totalitarianism.
Although a multitude of political commentators over the years have noticed the similarities between America, and the Roman transition from a nation of law to a tyrannical regime, relatively few truly understand this is a spiritually generated cycle which is specifically predicted to occur in Bible prophecy. The concept of Prophetic Parallels is one which was revealed a couple of decades ago, yet the alleged "church," still mired in the false doctrine associated with the end time's falling away (II Thessalonians 2:3), can't see the forest for the trees.
The larger body of Christ, seen in Revelation as the Multitude in chapter 7, is not scheduled to respond to the truth until the price has become their very lives. In the evil and adulterous generation which is even now experiencing the end of the age, the majority are already sinking in what the Apostle Paul called a "strong delusion" (II Thessalonians 2:11). In other words, this will not end well.
The Roman Empire left such an indelible impression on history that Christian theorists have built multiple theological systems around it. The Preterists, those who say the prophecies of Christ's second coming were fulfilled in the Roman siege of Jerusalem in 70 AD, rely upon Rome as the backdrop for their deficient version of prophetic fulfillment. Another variation, put forth by the false prophets of 7th Day Adventism, have long fixated on the Roman Catholic Papacy for their faulty vision of Antichrist.
The Rapture Cult, hatched in a historically European Protestant paradigm, has put forth the nonsense of the "Revived Roman Empire" for the last century. Denominations, so called non-denominational "fellowships," and a plethora of dynamic religious movements such as Herbert W Armstrong's Worldwide Church Of God and CT Russell's Watchtower have all spouted false prophecy from the shadow of Rome.
Yet, even as America continues to dwarf the scope of Roman power, the incorporated false prophets of our time are supernaturally empowered to lead those foolish enough to follow them. In short, this Spiritual blindness is a significant part of the prophesied departure from the truth which the prophets anticipated.
The inability to discern Spiritual truth notwithstanding, the Scriptures promise the Word of God never returns unto Him void (which means it's never a vain pursuit to declare the truth), so we labor to declare the truth once again.
The America of now is a Prophetic Parallel of Rome then. The kingdoms of the age, articulated in Scripture as six successive kingdoms, are followed by the kingdom of God -- significantly, the seventh kingdom spearheaded by Jesus Christ. They are Egypt, Assyria, Babylon, Persia, Greece, and pre-Christian Rome -- and Daniel tells us it is when these kingdoms have arrived that God sets up His kingdom:
"And in the days of these kings, shall the God of heaven set up a kingdom , which shall never be destroyed...." (Daniel 2:44).
The eighth kingdom, the Holy Roman Empire, a dialectically processed synthesis of kingdom six (pre-Christian Rome) and kingdom seven (the prophesied kingdom of God) renews the cycle, and becomes the first of an entirely new pattern. This Holy Roman operates in direct parallel with the 1st of the ancient set of kingdoms, which was, once again, Egypt. This is, by the way, why so many Egyptian motifs were imported by the Vatican, in a process usually referred to as syncretism.
The second kingdom of the Christian era was Imperial Spain, a direct parallel of the Assyrian dominion which followed Egypt. The next four kingdoms, known as the Quartet in these quarters, was the British Commonwealth (the "lion" kingdom seen in Daniel 7), resonating with the ancient Babylonian crown. The UK was followed by the Soviet Union (the bear which followed the lion), which was the direct parallel of the Persian Union of the Medes and the Persians. Then came the German Reich, filled with the same Spirit as Alexander's Greece, and then the sixth kingdom, America.
Because these Prophetic Parallels are far more detailed than can be expressed in the present work, we will simply say the prior manifestations provide a predictive blueprint of the contemporary equivalent. Thus, the past of Rome is the future of America -- which brings us full circle to the present diagnosis, a pattern indicating the citizens of the Republic will voluntarily cede their rights to the Caesar who will promise them peace and safety.
Of course, the process is already well underway, but few have recognized the prophetic grid. Indeed, we would all be better equipped for this time had we realized that when the Western leg of the Roman Empire (Daniel 2:33) became dysfunctional, the Eastern leg, based in Constantinople (now Istanbul), maintained a more cohesive power for some years. This knowledge would be beneficial because the Eastern phase of the Roman Empire, in what is now Islamic Turkey, precisely anticipates the shift in America from a historic Christian power, to the massive Moslem transition we're now manifesting.
There is a great deal more predictive data which can benefit those with eyes to see, but the Scriptures plainly indicate it is only a small Remnant of those in the faith who are able to discern these things, while the much larger Multitude will turn away from the truth, for the text tells us
"they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears [tell me what I want to hear]; and they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables" (II Timothy 4:3,4).
We make the present effort at putting forth this material in the hope that you are not among them.
