The Gates Of Hell Part IV

esus Christ’s reference to the Gates of Hell, which is presented as the enemy of His assembly (“church” in the English), provides the avid student of Scripture with an exemplary phrase to assist in recognizing the Spiritual architecture associated with the Kingdom of God – as well as the principalities and powers arrayed against His reign.

Indoctrinated in the false doctrine of exclusively literal prophetic expectation, most believers are ill equipped to accurately perceive Christ’s teaching concerning the Spiritual nature of His Father’s “house” – for our evil and adulterous generation is already well on the road to perdition. However, the true Remnant of Israel, the “few” in so many parables, truly desires to understand the truth of His dominion.

The term “Hell” is the source of the Spiritual power which is associated with the False Prophet of Revelation, even as “Death” inhabits his counterpart, the Antichrist beast seen in Scripture. Thus, although it is the Gates of Hell which oppose Christ’s church, we are comforted that this hideous strength will not prevail.

“…upon this rock [the profession that Jesus is indeed the Christ], I will build mychurch; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it” (Matthew 16:18).

The triune structure of the heavenly realm tells us, in metaphoric language, the two-fold nature of all things finite is destined to come to an end, but the third part, which is Spirit, will continue in the LORD of glory.

“…in all the [world] saith the Lord, two parts therein shall be cut off and die; but the third shall be left therein. And I will bring the third part through the fire, and will refine them as silver is refined, and will try them as gold is tried: they shall call on my name, and I will hear them: I will say, It is my people: and they shall say The Lord is my God” (Zechariah 13:8, 9).

The “third part” – which is imaged as “my church” in the passage concerning the Gates of Hell, is identified in Revelation as New Jerusalem, which comes down out of heaven to the earth:

“And I John saw the holy city, new Jerusalem, coming down from God out of heaven, prepared as a bride adorned for her husband” (Revelation 21:2).

Conversely, Antichrist (read Death), and the False Prophet (Hell), are described as prevailing overearthly Jerusalem – the city which is in bondage with her children:

“Wherefore hear the word of the Lord, ye scornful men, that rule this people which is in Jerusalem. Because ye have said, We have made a covenant with death, and with hell are we at agreement; when the overflowing scourge shall pass through, it shall not come unto us…” (Isaiah 28:15).

The false prophets who “prophesy unto you a false vision and divination” (Jeremiah 14:14), have materialized a political Antichrist who supposedly makes a treaty with Jerusalem, because they cannot see in the realm of the Spirit (Isaiah 56:10, 11), whereas Isaiah, Jeremiah, and Daniel all saw Death and Hell – imaged as the Antichrist and False Prophet beasts in Revelation – who prevail against earthly Jerusalem.

“I beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints, and prevailed against them” (Daniel 7:21).

The difference is discernment – a phenomenon which is required to recognize the simple fact that the Spiritual factions described as Death and Hell are characterized in prophetic metaphor with multiple names, attributes, and descriptive terms (I Corinthians 2:14).

Death, as the opposite of life, is seen as inhabiting he that “hath not life,“ because he “hath not the Son of God” (I John 5:12), and is conclusively identified as “antichrist” (I John 2:22). “Death” rides across the earth during the Pale Horse era (Revelation 6:8), even as his lies fail to preserve earthly Jerusalem (Isaiah 29:2). Death is vested with the ability to kill, as his demonic power seeks “to slay the third part of men” – the Spiritual third previously mentioned as New Jerusalem – and he that kills, because he is inhabited by Death, “must be killed with the sword” (Revelation 13:10).

Hell is associated with ongoing torment, captivity, fear, and compromise. The Gates of Hell promise life, but lead to Death. As the rich man “in hell [lifted] up his eyes, being in torments,” (Luke 16:23), theSpirit of Hell keeps him captive – even as the “Jerusalem which now is…is in bondage with her children” (Galatians 4:25). Hell inhabits any false prophet, “that prophesy out of their own hearts” (Ezekiel 13:2), and is nested in the metaphoric scorpions, who are not given authority to kill, but to “torment…as the torment of a scorpion, when he striketh a man” (Revelation 9:5). Hell causes the multitude “to be led away captive into all nations” (Luke 21:24), and he “opened not the house of his prisoners” (Isaiah 14:17).

Conversely, JESUS CHRIST is “alive for evermore” and has “the keys of hell and of death” (Revelation 1:18). He is the Holy One of Israel, who came to “preach deliverance to the captives” (Luke 4:18), and He has“opened the prison doors, and brought them forth” (Acts 5:19). He has “healing in his wings” (Malachi 4:2), as well as “rivers of living water” (John 7:38), which extinguish the “fire and smoke and brimstone” which kill (Revelation 9:18), even as our Father “hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of His dear son” (Colossians 1:12,13), where we “have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear” (Romans 8:15), but have been adopted as sons and daughters of the living God.

So shall we ever be with the LORD, and the Gates of Hell shall not prevail against Christ in us – the blessed hope of glory.

The LORD has chosen this ministry to declare things which are destined to be widely rejected by this evil generation – and the sad truth is, those who will not hear us largely consist of the existing “Church” – a group which desperately needs to turn away from the false prophets who continue to deceive them. The fact that we already know vast numbers of believers willnot hear this call does not change our mission. Another look at the False Prophet, and how this Hellish power seduces the multitude (those who dwell on the earth), is found in the James Lloyd 2 hour CD,MAKING THE IMAGE OF THE BEAST.
