The Hour Of Temptation

ost Christians encounter the title phrase in the context of Rapture Cult claims these words are related to a promise from the LORD to remove the believersbefore the prophesied tribulation period.

“Because thou has kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptationwhich shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth” (Revelation 3:10).

Unfortunately, in the heat of the Dialectical process engineered by the other gospel of the Cult That Kidnapped Christianity (see the article of the same name at our research website), few believers ever realize the only thing temptation has in common with tribulation is they’re both found in the dictionary under the letter T.

However, the blind continue to lead the blind, and literally millions of alleged “Christians” don’t actually care enough about the truth to even make the effort to try to step outside of their own conditioning, and trust the LORD – as opposed to the worthless hirelings called “prophecy teachers” – to track down the hard truth.

Nevertheless, “let God be true, but every man a liar” (Romans 3:4), as those who belong to Him will hear His words when they hear them.

The illustrative phrase, The Hour of Temptation, actually provides us with an enormously important nugget of Spiritual knowledge, as it speaks of a quantifiable prophetic phenomena. Further, the text is positioned in a sequential series of statements which indicates it is something that occurs at a certain point in time – a period of universal temptation which is so widespread that it has no modifier, such as “the Gentile’s hour of temptation,” or the “poor people’s hour of temptation.” It is, as stated in the Word of God, “the” hour which is scheduled to come upon all who live and breathe in this world.

Before proceeding further, regarding those who are still being held captive (Isaiah 61:1) by the doctrinal straitjacket found in the “Rapture” prison, we suggest they immediately move to a study of the resurrection  for there is only one resurrection of the just (Luke 14:14) – and it occurs on the “last day – just as Jesus repeatedly stated:

“This is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day” (John 6:40).

At the supposed Rapture, “the dead in Christ shall rise first” (I Thessalonians 4:16), so there is simply no Scripturally valid sequential place to raise the dead, at any point before the last day.

Indeed, the other gospel of the Rapture Cult helps to mask the profound importance of this “hour of temptation” in the end times and, since we are not deceived by the so called “Church” (II Corinthians 2:11), we move to the meat of the matter.

The fact is, the modern False Prophets have erected a theological monstrosity via the media magnified characterization of the tribulation when, in fact, the Scriptures repeatedly warn the final generation the greatest threat is deception– as opposed to persecution:

“The disciples came unto him privately, saying…what shall be the SIGN of thy coming, and of the end of the world? And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you” (Matthew 24:3, 4).

In recent written studies, such as the lengthy series on the Little Horn, and the examination of the doubling of prophetic timelines (see the essay Double, Double, Toil And Trouble), we’ve shown how the Old Testament timeline has precise parallels in the New Testament sequence:

“Now all these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ends of the world are come” (I Corinthians 10:11).

In the Little Horn series, we showed how, contrary to popular religious legend, the greatest threat to the Jews from the Little Horn power of Antiochus and his Seleucid dynasty in Syria, was the temptation to be drawn away from their special standing as the LORD’s chosen sons and daughters. This was the parallel to the New Testament Falling Away from the truth, and the historical records show the Jewish power was overwhelmingly drawn into the Gentile worldview of the religion of Jupiter Olympus, and the Graeco-Syrian pantheon of the Titans.

As the Jewish culture in the two centuries preceding Christ’s incarnation acquiesced to their Hour of Temptation, the Gentile power placed great emphasis on denigrating the Israelite ritual of circumcision, which was the central sign between God and Israel, that they were chosen by the LORD to be a separate people unto Him:

“What shall we say then [about] Abraham our father…he received the SIGN of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith…that he might be the father of all them that believe” (Romans 4:1, 11).

Ultimately, the Jewish men in that time came to such an abominable Spiritual state that they actually altered their circumcision, so they could pass as Gentiles. The historian Flavius Josephus, treats in some detail on how the social core of Jerusalem turned away from the LORD, and embraced the Gentile worldview:

“The Jews…retired to Antiochus and informed him, that they were desirous to leave the laws of their country, and the Jewish way of living according to them, and to follow the king’s laws, and the Grecian way of living” (Antiquities, Book XII, chapter V).

Many believers have heard about how Antiochus IV – known to history asAntiochus Epiphanes – persecuted the Judaeans, in the Macabbean era when certain zealots rebelled, and tried to steer the nation back to the worship of God – yet few realize this was preceded by the Old Covenant version of the Hour of Temptation. Further, even though the Macabbean revolt finally freed the city ofJerusalem from the Syrian despots, it was a short time later when theIdumaean usurper named Antipater came to power, and he resumed the mingling of the Jews with the Gentiles.

Antipater was the father of the non-Jewish king the Gospels identify as Herod.

Thus, the Hour of Temptation in the Old Testament timeline was a turning away from the laws of Moses. However, in the prophetic parallel of our time, complete with the role reversal (Romans 9:25) in which all who will turn toJESUS CHRIST in faith are counted as Spiritual Israelites, the Hour of Temptation is a turning away from the Spiritual circumcision of the heartrevealed in Scripture (Romans 2:29), as the body of Christ is now seeking to revert back to the laws of Moses, and the rigidity found in the apostate Hebrew Roots movement.
