Prophetic Polarities: Hot, Cold, and Lukewarm Part V

s the Prophetic Polarities series has sought to show the mechanism whereby beliefs move from Hot to Cold via the Spiritual route Scripture characterizes as Lukewarm, it’s useful to recognize how the end result manifests a completely opposite point of view. Since Jesus Christ is clearly the “hot” seen in the prophetic metaphor, the “cold” would have to be seen as Hisopposite – in what is commonly referred to as the “Antichrist.”

As we recognize this principle of opposites and, knowing we exist in a period of time which is widely identified as the last days, the very fact that believers exhibit these extreme opposites of belief is an indicator of the supernatural polarities being described. Indeed, abundant examples may be cited, including the quintessential instance of these mysterious opposites, which may be found in the disparate interpretive approaches to the legendary prophetic text known as Daniel’s 70 Weeks.

For many centuries, most students of Scripture saw this as a vivid sequence of texts which choreographed how (and when) the Saviour of Israel was to arrive. It further described just what He would accomplish. During this complex prophetic epoch, through an angelic emissary, the LORD promised to

“…finish the transgression [1], and to make an end of sins [2], and to make reconciliation for iniquity [3], and to bring in everlasting righteousness [4], and to seal up the vision [5] and prophecy [6], and to anoint the most Holy [7]” (Daniel 9:24).

The divine scope of this promise is breathtaking, as the seven aspects of this prediction completely encompass God’s redemption of Israel. We note the finale, which is exemplified in the 7th aspect of the prophecy, wherein the “most Holy” is anointed, is characterized by its promissory placement indicating the “rest” which is associated with His reign in the believer’s life.

What is singularly astonishing is how “the faith which was once delivered unto the saints” (Jude 1:3) universally saw the prophecy in Daniel as fulfilled in Christ, as His sacrificial death on the cross brought about an end of Israel’s Old Covenant practice of sacrificing animals for the sins of the nation:

“…he shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease” (Daniel 9:27).

Jesus of Nazareth, as the Son dispatched by the Father, and the focal point of every aspect of the seven threads of divine achievement just cited, established a New Covenant with Israel through His shed blood:

“And after [His arrival] shall Messiah be cut off, but not for himself….” (Daniel 9:26).

The period of time in which He accomplishes this awesome feat was specified to be half of a “week,” easily reckoned to be halfway through a 7 year period:

“…and in the midst of the week…shall Messiah be cut off….[which] shall cause the sacrifice and the oblation to cease…” (Daniel 9:27, 26, 27).

As vast numbers of those whom the LORD offered salvation “deemed [themselves] unworthy of everlasting life” (Acts 13:46), the Old Covenant temple system was predicted to be rendered “desolate,” amidst an “overspreading of abominations” (Daniel 9:27).

“And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple….[saying] O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee….Behold, your house is left unto youdesolate” (Matthew 24:1, 23:37, 38).

The “desolation” was “consummated” (Daniel 9:27) in 70 AD, when the Old Testament temple was burned to the ground, even as the New Testament temple, the “house” which the Son of David was predicted to build (I Chronicles 17:12) – and the body of Christian believers filled with the “everlasting righteousness” (Daniel 9:24) of the LORD Himself – came into His presence.

We now live in a time when such a perspective is foreign, as the “many false prophets” scheduled to “deceive many” in the last times (Matthew 24:11), have almost universally constructed a desolating “pinnacle of abominations” (Daniel 9:27, Luke 4:9, Textus Receptus) in the Spiritual temple, and a completeProphetic Polarity reversal has occurred.

Instead of recognizing it is JESUS CHRIST who makes the covenant with many, the ubiquitous false prophets of our generation tell us it’s His Spiritual opposite, the Antichrist, who makes a covenant. Instead of the body of Christ-worshiping believers who receive that covenant, the liars descended from the Rapture Culttell us it’s the Christ-rejecting Jews who receive that covenant.

Instead of Christ’s epic ministry of 3 ½ years, consisting of His monumental effort to “establish peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ” (Romans 5:1), the theological criminals, speaking “great swelling words” (Jude 1:16), tell us the prophesied 3 ½ year period is the result of the Devil’s political maneuvering, which will supposedly establish a peace treaty between factions which universally reject Christ (Jeremiah 8:11).

The False Prophets of Jewish Supremacism tell us that flesh and blood descendants of Jacob are “chosen” to be the “elect” of the LORD, when the entire New Testament tells us the “chosen people” are the recipients of Christ’s awesome Spirit – in a supernatural realm where “flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God” (I Corinthians 15:50).

The liars in Churches around the world consistently teach that God has yet to redeem Israel, when the New Covenant, which is written in His blood, conclusively tells us the body of believers is born again Israel, which has been translated into a Spiritual house:

“Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us [fit] to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light: Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son: In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins” (Colossian 1:12, 13; see Jeremiah 12:14 for the identity of the heir).

The False Prophets tell us the contemporary political power known as the state of Israel, consists of people chosen to eventually become one with Christ, when the Scriptures describe the nation in terms which equivocate to Antichrist:

“…behold, there came among them another little horn [read a small nation], before whom there were three of the first horns [read three adjacent nations] plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things…and the same horn made war with the saints, and prevailed against them” (Daniel 7:8, 21).

The False Prophets tell us that God wants the Israeli state to seize surrounding neighbor’s land, because they are supposedly chosen to reign, whereas the Scriptures say that wicked entity is Antichrist. The False Prophets tell us the Christ rejecting people, formerly known as Jews, are the children of God, when Jesus stated the exact opposite:

“If God were your father, ye would love me…Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of the father ye will do” (John 8:42, 44).

The False Prophets tell us that Jewish people are chosen before God becausethey are the seed of Abraham, but the Bible says that Jesus Christ is the seed of Abraham:

“Now to Abraham and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ” (Galatians 3:16).

These Prophetic Polarities demonstrate we’ve already seen a complete role reversal, in which the Life of Christ has been exchanged for the Death of Antichrist, in a blasphemous effort to undo (read fall away from) the role reversal performed by Christ at the cross. Indeed, the prophets specifically stated that God, in sending His only begotten Son to bring in the “everlasting righteousness” described in Daniel’s 70 Weeks prophecy, was going to perform the ultimate Prophetic Polarity Reversal, and turn “Israel” upside down, by utilizing the well known allegory of potter’s clay:

“Surely your turning of things upside down shall be esteemed as the potter’s clay” (Isaiah 29:16).

This Prophetic Polarity reversal occurred through the redemption of Jesus Christ, and the people who were formerly chosen in the flesh, perceived it as a threat to their position.

“But the Jews which believed not…drew Jason and certain brethren unto the rulers of the city, crying,These that have turned the world upside downare come hither also” (Acts 17:5, 6).

While we see the transition from Death into Life is exemplified by the single step of opening the door of your soul to Jesus, the road from Life (read hot in Revelation’s metaphor) into Death (the cold in the same passage), traverses the Hell that is found in the Dialogue between Life and Death (read the Lukewarm); but more on that circuitous route will have to wait for another day.
