Stamping On The Stars The Little Horn Part III
he present series describing the activities of the Little Horn, during the reign of the political power referenced as the “diverse” beast of Daniel 7:7, provides us with crucial clues concerning the Spiritual and Figurative meanings behind the imagery. As most know, rightly dividing the Word of Truth is one of the believer’s greatest challenges, but with the Little Horn passage, we are given a rare opportunity to perceive the multi-layered truth of the passage.
The descriptions of the kingdoms which form the setting for the emergence of the horn can be discerned relatively easily as non-literal – that is, unless the reader believes that we’ll actually see a big lion with eagle’s wings appear on the world scene. It’s self evident the lion represents a power that can be recognized by its characteristics and, in numerous prior efforts, we’ve shown how the British Commonwealth symbol of the standing lion fulfills this role. Further, the royal nature of the emblem suggests a period of time in which monarchies are pre-eminent.
We’ve also shown the Spiritual powers guiding these kingdoms, through the precision of the parallels with the ancient quartet of kingdoms recorded in Daniel 2 – four empires which are actually identified in the text as Babylon, Persia, Greece, and Rome – indicates a supernatural pattern is underway. As the lion is the first of four in the Christian era, this writer has repeatedly noted the historical fact that a famous English king recapitulated the bizarre episode of Nebuchadnezzar, who lost his mind for a period of time, but regained his faculties, and came back into power:
“And at the end of days I Nebuchadnezzar lifted up mine eyes unto heaven, and mine understanding returned unto me….” (Daniel 4:34).
The British king who paralleled Babylon and Nebuchadnezzar, was George III, and he experienced exactly the same cycle of rule, loss of dominion during an extended dementia, and the resumption of his reign. The episode is historically verified, but few realize George III was the British king who sat on the throne when the American colonies rebelled:
“Four great beasts rose up from the sea…the first was like a lion, and had eagle’s wings: I beheld until the eagle’s wings were plucked…” (Daniel 7:3,4).
The Soviet Bear came a little over a century later and, on its territorially militaristic rise to power, it annexed the three Baltic states of Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania:
“And behold another beast, a second, like to a bear, and it raised up itself on one side, and it had three ribs in the mouth of it….” (Daniel 7:5).
The Russian beast -- the second of the modern four kingdoms -- also paralleled the second of the ancient four, which was Persia. When Babylon fell to Persia, the famous party of Belshazzar was underway, and the king, who was the grandson of Nebuchadnezzar, was accompanied by his mother – who was the princess daughter of Nebuchadnezzar. History records the royals were all killed, including the unnamed princess.
In parallel, as the Russian Bear kingdom raised itself up, a celebrated princess was also brutally murdered, and her name was Anastasia.
When the lightning fast Leopard power of Adolf Hitler followed the Bear kingdom, the despot’s career lasted 12 years and 8 months – the precise period of the career of his Grecian parallel, Alexander the Great. Most know Alexander’s kingdom was divided among four generals as predicted in Daniel’s 8thchapter, but few stop to realize that Hitler’s post-war Germany was also ruled by four generals – representing the four victorious allies – for several years after the war:
“Therefore the he goat waxed very great: and when he was strong, the great horn was broken; and for it came up four notable ones toward the four winds of heaven” (Daniel 8:8).
As the National Security Agency (NSA), an outgrowth of the military in the United States, came to power when the National Security Act was passed in 1947, it circumvented the constitution – just as the Caesars of Rome came to pre-eminence, in an end run around the Republican Senate. As it aggressively conducted foreign wars, the Roman Empire helped to finance that militarism through revenues derived from the Decapolis – a trade alliance of ten cities built around commerce.
“And there followed him great multitudes of people from Galilee, and from Decapolis, and from Jerusalem, and from Judaea, and from beyond Jordan” (Matthew 4:25).
In the modern parallel, the crown of ten horns (in a spooky reversal of John 19:15) on the head of the Antichrist beast, the American Empire, was originally comprised of ten Arab states, with a commercial association which brought unprecedented monetary petro-dollar power to America. It was associated with OPEC (the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries), and the lesser known OAPEC (the Organization of Arab Petroleum Exporting Countries). It is here we are introduced to the return of Israel, the Little Horn, which came up among the ten:
“I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things” (Daniel 7:8).
The symbolism of the Little Horn continues in the same figurative sense as the predecessor lion, bear, leopard kingdoms, in that it physically plucks up three adjacent powers – Arab nations, in at least one strata of prophetic fulfillment. Few have realized that at the emergence of Israel, the nation of Palestine was vividly plucked up – leaving two to go. This begs the question, is there any indication Israel will ever go to war against rival, militant Arab states on their borders, and uproot their governments?
The Little Horn must be closely associated with the “diverse” beast, which is clearly America, so this integral relationship explains just why the truth of the identification of the United Kingdom, the Soviet Union, the Third Reich, and America in Daniel 7, is so widely rejected. The fact is, the Little Horn is obviously associated with the symbolism of Antichrist – placing America and Israel in a Scripturally derived, highly unflattering light – something the deceived “Christians,” who supposedly love the truth, cannot abide.
“For this cause God shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie…because they received not the love of the truth, that they might be saved” (II Thessalonians 2:11, 10).

Bible Prophecy has always stated there would be a massive departure from the truth towards the end of the age, but few recognize this process is now well underway. The countdown of the prophesied kingdoms in the Christian era is a pivotal part of this. A detailed examination of the empires described in the present work is found in the James Lloyd bookTHE LION, THE BEAR, AND THE LEOPARD.
